Our Pricing Model
What is the basis of our pricing model?
Our pricing model is based on the understanding of the different power structures in place within distinct parts of the world. These are, at this point in time, understood as the Global North and the Global South.
What countries fall under the Global North and the Global South?
We use the Global North to refer to the United Kingdom, member states of the European Union, the United States, Canada, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and Aotearoa (New Zealand). The Global South, on the other hand, includes all countries in Africa and Latin America, as well as the Middle East, India, China and other parts of Asia.
What is the background to the Global North/ South terminology?
The Global North/ South are not references to traditional geographic regions based on latitudinal coordinates. Rather the terms refer to the relative power and wealth of countries in distinct parts of the world. However, we acknowledge that societies within the countries of both the Global North and the Global South are often internally diverse and stratified, such that not every person in the Global North is wealthy and not every person in the Global South is less so. If our pricing model places you in a payment option that you may struggle to afford, please refer to our scholarship option for alternative pricing options.
